Over the last 20 years in the field Ciarán has become familiar with many of the terrestrial, aquatic and marine vertebrates of Ireland.

He is familiar with the use of live traps, and the operation of equipment such as radio tracking devices (telemetry) and bat detectors.

He is presently increasing his expertise in these areas and is very interested in participating in projects associated with any terrestrial vertebrates.
